Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information friendslop collects, why, who can see it, and what you can do about it. We only collect what we need to run your account and the site. We don't sell your information, and we don't show ads.

1. What we collect

When you sign up: your username, email address, date of birth and password. We never store your password itself, only a secure one-way hash of it.

Your profile: your display name, About section and avatar pattern.

How you use friendslop: your friends and friend requests, games you've played recently, favorites and votes, whether you're online, and which game and server you're in.

Your devices: for each device you're logged in on, the browser and operating system, the IP address and when it was last active. You can see this list in Settings → Security.

2. How we use it

To create and run your account, log you in, and keep it secure.
To check you're old enough to use friendslop.
To send you emails you need: verifying your email address and resetting your password. We don't send marketing emails.
To show your friends when you're online and let them join your game.
To count visits, likes and favorites for each game.
To enforce our Terms of Service, including filtering names and profiles and handling reports.

3. What other people can see

Everyone with an account can see your username, display name, avatar, and when you joined. They can also see your About section, favorites and recently played games, unless you set your profile to friends only.
Your friends can see whether you're online and what you're playing. If you allow joins, they can also see your server so they can join you.
Nobody else sees your email address or date of birth.
Admins can see account details including your email address, for moderation and support. They can't see your password.

You can change most of this in Settings → Privacy, including appearing offline.

We don't sell or rent your information. We only share it:

With games you open. When you press Play, the game receives your display name, and the server code if you're joining a friend.
With our email provider, only to deliver emails to you.
If the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

Games made by other developers may collect information of their own while you play. Their own privacy policies apply to that.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use one cookie to keep you logged in. If someone enters a birthday under 13 while signing up, we set a second cookie for 24 hours so that browser can't try again right away. We also remember your theme choice in your browser. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. When you delete your account, your profile, friends, favorites and votes are removed right away. Login sessions expire after 30 days, and password reset links after 30 minutes.

7. Your choices

Change your display name, About section and avatar in Settings → Account.
Change your email address in Settings → Account.
Control who can see your profile and join you in Settings → Privacy.
Log out other devices in Settings → Security.
Delete your account in Settings → Account.

Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as asking for a copy of your information. Contact us and we'll help.

8. Children

friendslop is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you're a parent and think your child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. Security

Passwords are hashed, login sessions can be ended at any time, and repeated wrong passwords lock an account for a while. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don't use anywhere else.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information we already have, we'll tell you when you next log in.
